Weekly statistics on patents and industrial designs – from June 3, 2022 to June 10, 2022


This week’s patent and design data has been compiled from the Official Patent and Design Journal, published by the patent office on June 10, 2022. These statistics are brought to you by lawyers in patents and experts from BananaIP Counsels, the Indian leader in intellectual property. Solidify.


A total of 1,624 patent applications were published in the 23rd issue of the Patent Journal, 2022. Of the 1,624 applications published in the journal, 407 applications represent early publications while 1,217 applications represent ordinary publications or later publications to 18 – month period. A total of 408 applications were granted last week compared to 708 grants the week before the last, thus marking a drop of approximately 42.37%

Of the total 1,624 patent applications published in the journal last week, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata contributed a total of 257 applications. The total entries from each of the previously mentioned cities are as follows – 17 entries from Delhi, 69 entries from Mumbai, 26 entries from Pune, 49 entries from Bangalore, 40 entries from Chennai, 49 entries from Hyderabad and 7 entries from Kolkata.
