This week’s patent and design data has been compiled from the Official Patent and Design Journal, published by the patent office on January 14, 2022. These statistics are brought to you by lawyers in patents and experts from BananaIP Counsels, the Indian leader in intellectual property. Solidify.


A total of 1,208 patent applications were published in the 2nd issue of the Patent Journal, 2022. Of the 1,208 applications published in the journal, 266 applications represent early publications while 942 applications represent ordinary publications or later publications. 18 – month period. A total of 482 applications were awarded last week compared to 665 grants the week before last marking a drop of around 27.52%

Of the total 1,208 patent applications published in the journal last week, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata contributed a total of 203 applications. The total entries from each of the previously mentioned cities are as follows – 43 entries from Delhi, 41 entries from Mumbai, 19 entries from Pune, 50 entries from Bangalore, 24 entries from Chennai, 20 entries from Hyderabad and 6 entries from Kolkata.
