SPEAR Invest, a newly formed asset manager with a focus on industrials and industrial technology, has launched its first ETF.

Robotics and Automation is one of the many sub-themes of industrial technology in which the ETF invests.

The SPEAR Alpha ETF (SPRX US) has been registered on Nasdaq and comes with an expense ratio of 0.75%.

The actively managed fund targets disruptive and growth-oriented companies, selecting the most compelling stocks from a number of industrial technology sub-themes, including environmental impact, digitization of manufacturing, robotics and automation, photonics, additive manufacturing, space exploration and artificial intelligence.

U.S.-listed stocks, including American Depository Receipts, can be selected, and the ETF will generally favor large-cap companies with market capitalizations over $ 10 billion.

SPEAR first uses a top-down analysis, drawing on internal and external research, to select companies that are significant beneficiaries of the sub-themes. The fund may invest in breakthrough companies at any stage of the supply chain, from the extraction and processing of raw materials, to the manufacturing of components, to the companies that produce, use or benefit from products. finished.

Once a company is identified as relevant to a sub-theme, SPEAR performs bottom-up research including an assessment of the company’s competitive positioning, financial performance, ESG profile and the quality of the management team. management to select only two or three actions from each sub-topic. . The fund’s portfolio is expected to consist of approximately 25 high conviction stocks.

Individual positions may be resized or removed based on a reassessment of the valuation of the company or changes in structural factors of the industry such as increased competition or disruptive new technologies.
