Industry Units: SSGC Says Governor’s House Talks Aim to Bring Discipline – Business & Finance

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) serves its customers, especially industrial customers, with its best capabilities and available resources.

SSGC never thought of hampering industrial and commercial activities, said a press release issued here on Saturday.

The discussion at Sindh Governor House was aimed at bringing discipline so that every customer can be served in the best possible manner.

With the full understanding and support of the Governor of Sindh, a campaign was launched against the use of powerful booster pumps deployed by 189 industrial units.

Subsequently, the gas connections of only 10 large industrial units were disconnected while the rest of the industries voluntarily cooperated by removing their suction pumps. As a result, the SSGC system showed gradual improvement in the surrounding areas.

Of the 10 disconnected customers, 6 largest industrial units realizing the facts, have already submitted the required commitments to SSGC and their gas supplies have been restored. The other 4 are also in contact with SSGC and after submitting the required undertakings, their gas supplies will also be restored after agreeing that any future violations will be severely punished.

SSGC welcomes voluntary industry support and expects that any upgraded gas charge that has not been recorded and sanctioned by SSGC Sales will be regularized on RLNG billing by submitting the required commitments, as soon as possible.

It should be noted that gas charges can only be sanctioned if there is a signed written contract with SSGC and not on verbal discussions.
