Senior Industrial Technology students from Bulahdelah Central School were able to further their knowledge by experimenting with laser cutting and engraving techniques in their final project for the Stage 6 Preliminary Course. The project involved building a table bedside tables from radiata pine and hardwoods and incorporating a decorative laser etched design on the table top. Laser cutting and engraving technology is an integral part of many industries, including manufacturing. Completing the project provided students with hands-on experience with evolving technology. Students also focused on developing a range of joinery techniques, including building various joints, joining work, placing inlay and applying appropriate finishes to the wood. Students will use these skills in building their major HSC project. The 10 year old wooden girls have completed their minor project which was a toolbox. Did you know?
